Also the V8 F1 engines usually use single plane crankshafts, basically a 4 cylinder crank with wider journals. This allows them to get even firing on each bank of cylinders. Road car V8's use 2 plane cranks with uneven firing per bank hence the V8 burble. 2 plane cranks have better balance. V10's would be set up for even firing per bank as well. so the exhaust note of a F1 V8 or V10 is like two 4 or 5 cylinder engines running 90 or 57 degrees out of phase. |

Don't you fell kinda silly when you comment something like this at a V10 engine running at 20K rpm? honest question. |

Imagine how much it costs to develop an engine with expensive looking facilities like that.
F1 isn't the most expensive racing series for no good reason. |

muy bueno, lastima que Honda no ha podido lograr algo interesante entre 2001 y 2005 porque realmente esa gente si que sabia lo que es un motor para ganar.Muy buen video!! |

Very short stroke about 40mm and it's naturally aspirated. Also have pneumatic valves.

They run at extremely high R.P.M. and are quite small displacement. A typical road car's V-8 will displace twice what an f1 engine will and redline at around 6-7 thousand rpm. An F-1 engine redlines somewhere in the neighborhood of 19 thousand rpm. They actually have more in common with high performance sportbike engines than car engines. imagine 2 hayabusa engines mated together to form a v-8 then tuned to rev like an r-6 and you kind of get the idea. They also run different fuel. |

they used to be 2.4 li V8's small cylinders and RPMS almost to 20 thousand that is why they sound so dif |
